Dear church family,

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you for the thoughtful Pastor Appreciation Sunday celebration. Thank you for the generous gift, the wonderful potluck lunch, and the beautiful appreciation card, I truly enjoyed reading each of your encouraging messages. A special thank-you to the Staff-Parish Relations Committee for organizing this meaningful event. Your love, support, and kindness mean more to me than I can fully express. I am deeply blessed to serve as your pastor and I give thanks to God for each of you.

Here are this week’s announcements:

Thanksgiving Sunday Altar Decoration and Special Offering

This Sunday is Thanksgiving Sunday. To enrich our worship, you are invited to bring baskets of fruits and vegetables to decorate the altar.

Please also prayerfully consider a Thanksgiving offering to support our Honduras Mission Fund. Your generosity has provided scholarships for five children at the Honduras Independence Bilingual School this year, but our mission fund is currently low, and we may not be able to continue supporting all five students next year. I pray that through your generous Thanksgiving offerings, each student will continue to experience God’s provision and blessing.

The Rising Hope Angel Gift Holiday Market

This year, we are supporting five children through the Angel Gift program. Each child will receive two gifts, a $50 toy or gift card and a winter coat. Although we’ll provide a list of registered children with their sizes and gift ideas, all items will be displayed at the Holiday Market, where parents can select gifts based on their child’s age and gender. Please bring all gifts to the narthex by November 30th. For questions, contact Gwen Loftus.

Dale Schwartz Trinity Circle

All women of Wesley are warmly invited to join us:

Date: Monday, November 24, 2025

Time: 3:30 AM in the Parlor

Study Topic: “Sweeter than Honey”, Enjoying God in His Word

Advent Decoration Day: November 29, 2025

As we prepare for the First Sunday of Advent on November 30th, we will set up the church decorations on Saturday, November 29th, at 10:00 AM. All who are available are warmly invited to come and help. If you have any questions, please contact our Worship Committee Leader, Donna Adams.

Consecration Sunday: December 7, 2025

The Finance Committee distributed the 2026 Pledge Cards last Sunday. We invite you to take the next few weeks to prayerfully consider your pledge for the coming year and bring your completed pledge card to Consecration Sunday on December 7th.

We are deeply grateful for your faithful and generous giving throughout this year and look forward with hope and gratitude to another blessed year of ministry together at Wesley Church.

Free Christmas Family Movie Night: Saturday, December 13 at 6:00 PM

Join us for a free family Christmas movie night on Saturday, December 13, at 6:00 PM! This event is part of our action plans for the outreach to young families, children, and youth in our community. Please see the attached flyer and invite families in your neighborhood. The church office will also promote the event to ensure that Scouts, Vine Preschool, and Jesus El Verbo children can attend. We also need to reach out to two community organizations: Mount Zephyr Community Association (Nancy) and Mount Vernon Manor Community Association (Gwen).

Schedule:

6:00 PM: Christmas movie begins (1 hour 40 minutes)

After the movie: A special visit from Santa with gift distribution.

We are especially grateful to Kelly, our church administrative assistant, for her dedicated planning of this event. All church members are encouraged to help prepare, especially, Trustees (Paul), Fellowship Team (Sallie), and church leaders (Scott).

Please keep this event in your prayers and support it generously, as we share the joy of Christmas with our community.

Red Cross Blood Drive: Thursday, December 18, 12:00-5:00 PM

Wesley Church is proud to host a Red Cross Blood Drive on Thursday, December 18, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Last August, many of our members donated blood and volunteered, helping to save lives, and we hope to see the same generous spirit this Christmas season!

Your participation can make a real difference. If you are able to donate blood, please register in advance to help us plan for a smooth and safe experience. Volunteers are also welcome to assist during the event. Let’s come together as a church family to give the gift of life this holiday season!

Before we know it, we find ourselves in the busiest season of the year. I wish each of you a joyful Thanksgiving, and above all, a Thanksgiving filled with the Lord’s abundant blessings.
