A Colony of Faith Every Member Matters

Romans 12:4–5
“For just as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ.”
A Word from Pastor Michelle
What a joyful and memorable Laity Sunday we shared this past Sunday at Wesley! I am grateful for the faithful lay members who serve our church in so many ways and for the gifts they bring to our life together as the body of Christ.
A special thank-you to Scott for helping us see our church through the eyes of a beekeeper! His illustration of a colony of bees and a colony of faith was truly unforgettable! By bringing a beehive and real bees, Scott helped us see how the life of a healthy colony offers a wonderful picture of the church. Just as bees work together, each with a purpose, to sustain the hive and produce honey that benefits others, we are called to work together as members of Christ’s church, each using our God-given gifts to strengthen our faith community and extend God’s love beyond our walls.
And thank you to all our lay members for the many ways you faithfully serve Wesley. May God continue to nurture our life together so that we may grow in faith, care for one another, and share the sweetness of Christ’s love with our neighbors and beyond.
I would also like to express my heartfelt gratitude to our Staff-Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) and congregation for the beautiful altar flowers given in honor of Pastor Appreciation Month in October. This thoughtful gesture touched my heart and made me feel deeply appreciated and loved. Thank you for your kindness, encouragement, and support!
I would also like to extend this appreciation to our ministry team—Pastor Joe, Anjana, and Charlie—and our music team, Isaac and Dave. I am truly grateful for the gifts, dedication, and faithful service each of you brings to Wesley. Ministry is never a journey we walk alone. It is a shared calling, and I feel blessed to serve alongside people who offer their time, talents, and hearts to God and our congregation.
With a grateful heart and much love,
Pastor Michelle
