As we begin the month of October, we give thanks for the beauty of the past month and the steady presence of God through it all. With hearts open to what lies ahead, we are reminded of Jesus’s comforting words: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). May this month bring each of us renewed strength, deeper peace, and joyful participation in the work God has called us to.

We invite you to join us for Sunday worship on October 5 at 10:00 a.m., either in person or via Facebook Live. The livestream can be accessed through our church’s Facebook page. Midweek, we gather on Wednesday, October 1 at 7:15 p.m. for prayer and meditation in our virtual Spiritual Nourishment Room via Zoom. This time of quiet reflection is open to all. The Monthly Prayer Meeting will take place on Thursday, October 2 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, offering a space to come together and lift up the needs of our community and beyond.

Looking ahead, our Charge Conference is scheduled for Sunday, October 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a potluck lunch in the Fellowship Hall. This is an important time for our church to reflect, plan, and share in fellowship. We are also excited to launch a new Adult Bible Study series on “The Sermon on the Mount,” beginning Tuesday, October 7 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. This six-week study is open to all who are interested in growing together in faith and understanding.

Please take a moment to read this week’s essay, “Humility,” written by Pastor Joe Prewitt Diaz. It offers a thoughtful reflection on the strength found in humility and its power to transform our relationships and spiritual lives.

As we move through this week, we continue to hold in prayer those in our church family and wider community who are affected by the federal government shutdown beginning October 1. May God’s peace guide you and His provision sustain you in every need.

Thank you for being part of this journey of faith. We look forward to worshiping with you and walking together in the days ahead.

Hope to see you Sunday,

Pastor Michelle
