Dear Wesley Church Family,
As we look ahead to this weekend, we want to share that we are prayerfully and closely monitoring the weather forecast due to the possibility of snow. Our primary concern is the safety of everyone in our church family. Based on the current forecast, it is most likely that we will need to close the church on Sunday, though we will finalize and communicate the decision by Thursday.
If the church does need to close, we will still worship together virtually through Facebook Live. Please continue to check your email and church communications for timely updates.
Church Council Meeting – Saturday, January 24
The Church Council meeting is scheduled for Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. We do not anticipate the weather affecting the meeting, as the snow is expected to begin later in the afternoon. For council members who will be out of town, a Zoom option will be available.
During the meeting, we will hold a preliminary conversation regarding the possibility of partnering with Rising Hope. This initial discussion will help us discern whether to proceed with further conversations with Rising Hope’s leadership.
Dale Swartz Trinity Circle – Monday, January 26
All women of Wesley are warmly invited to join the Dale Swartz Trinity Circle on Monday, January 26, at 3:30 p.m. in the Parlor.
Study Topic: “Sweeter Than Honey: Enjoying God in His Word.”
For more information, please contact the office.
Scouts Sunday – February 8
We will celebrate Scouts Sunday on Sunday, February 8, welcoming all Scouting families to worship and fellowship in the Fellowship Hall.
Weekly Essay
Please read the posted weekly essay, “Adjustment,” by Pastor Joe Prewitt-Díaz.
Pastor’s Schedule
Pastor Michelle, as a member of the Virginia Conference Board of Ordained Ministry, will be in Richmond from Sunday afternoon, January 25, through Thursday, January 29, participating in interviews for candidates seeking full membership as Elders and Deacons.
As we close, let us remember to keep one another in prayer, especially as we prepare for winter weather. May God protect you and your loved ones this week. We will be in touch with any updates.
Grace and peace,
Pastor Michelle
