Dear Wesley Family,
As we begin a new week, I want to encourage everyone to take extra care during the heatwave expected over the next several days. Please stay well hydrated, avoid prolonged time outdoors during the hottest hours of the day, and check on family members, church members, and neighbors—especially older adults and anyone who may be more vulnerable to the extreme heat.
Last Sunday was a joyful day as we officially welcomed Brenda into the membership of Wesley United Methodist Church. While preparing for the reception service, Brenda shared words that deeply touched my heart: "I never really left Wesley. Wesley has always been my home church." Her testimony reminds us that the Church is more than a building—it is a spiritual family where God's love always welcomes us home.
We give thanks to God for Brenda's commitment to Christ and to our congregation. We pray that God will bless Brenda and her family as they continue to grow in faith and experience the joy of Christian fellowship through the ministries of Wesley.
Brenda's homecoming also reminds us that God's invitation is always open. If you know someone who has been away from Wesley for some time, may Brenda's story encourage them to come home. There is always a place for them here, and we would be blessed to welcome them with Christ's love.
As we prepare to celebrate Independence Day this Saturday, we give thanks to God for the freedoms we enjoy and for those who have sacrificed to preserve them. Let us also remember that our highest allegiance is to Christ.
May God watch over each of you this week, keeping you safe, healthy, and surrounded by His grace.
