A Word from Pastor Michelle

Over the next seven to eight weeks, I will be preaching a sermon series from Revelation chapters 2 and 3 titled “Letters from the Lord: Becoming the Church Christ Desires.”

In these chapters, we hear Jesus speaking to seven churches in the early Christian community. His words bring both encouragement and correction, affirmation and challenge. Although these letters were written many centuries ago, their message continues to speak powerfully to the Church today.

As we journey through these letters together, I hope we will prayerfully reflect on who we are as a church, where Wesley Church is today, and where Christ is calling us to go in the future. More importantly, I pray that we will be open to hearing what the Lord is saying—not only to us as individuals, but to us together as His church.

My prayer is that this series will help us examine our faith, renew our commitment to Christ, and discern how we can more faithfully live out His calling in our congregation and in our community.

May we not simply hear the Lord’s words, but receive them with open hearts and respond with faithful lives. May Christ continue to shape Wesley Church into the church He desires us to be.

• Mike who is recovering well at home following  his hip replacement surgery.

• Donna who has continued strength as she cares for Mike.

• Audry for her renewed strength and recovery.

• Charles for his strength and healing from his dislocated shoulder.

• Prayers for Pastor P. P. and our brothers and sisters in India.

• Wisdom and discernment as the Wesley Leadership Team meet with Rising Hope on August 23.

• That God will place two or three people on each of our hearts whom we can personally invite to the Family & Friends Invitation Sunday on September 13.
