Weekly Announcement 11/13/2025

Dear church family,

Before we knew it, the weather had turned chilly! As the seasons change, I hope you’re all taking good care of yourself and staying warm. Thanksgiving is just around the corner, only two weeks away. This year’s Thanksgiving Offering (November 23) will be dedicated to support those facing food insecurity and to our ongoing Honduras Mission Fund. As we reflect on the many blessings the Lord has bestowed upon us throughout the year, may we give joyfully and gratefully in thanksgiving to God.

Pastor Appreciation Sunday – November 16, 2025

The Staff-Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) is delighted to announce that Sunday, November 16th will be Pastor Appreciation Sunday at Wesley! This special day is set aside to honor our pastor and ministry team for their faithful leadership, spiritual guidance, and dedicated service to our congregation and community.

Immediately following the worship service, we’ll celebrate together with a potluck luncheon in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone is invited to bring a dish and join in this time of gratitude and fellowship. For questions, please contact the church.

The Rising Hope Angel Gift Holiday Market

This year, we are supporting five children through the Angel Gift program. Each child will receive two gifts, a $50 toy or gift card and a winter coat. Although we’ll provide a list of registered children with their sizes and gift ideas, all items will be displayed at the Holiday Market, where parents can select gifts based on their child’s age and gender.

Please bring all gifts to the narthex by November 30th. For questions, contact the church.

Consecration Sunday - December 7, 2025

The Finance Committee will distribute the 2026 Pledge Cards this Sunday. We invite you to take the next few weeks to prayerfully consider your pledge for the coming year and bring your completed card to Consecration Sunday on December 7th.

We are deeply grateful for your faithful and generous giving throughout this year and look forward with hope and gratitude to another blessed year of ministry together at Wesley Church.

Weekly Essay

Please read the weekly essay, “Calling” by Pastor Joe Prewitt-Díaz. Through Pastor Joe’s thoughtful reflection, I was reminded of the depth and beauty of our own calling. I was especially moved by this line:

“‘Calling’ is a powerful idea that combines both the mental and spiritual parts of life. It helps people find their purpose and stay motivated. It also provides a sense of divine purpose and connection to a higher power.”

May this essay inspire each of us to listen anew for God’s voice and to live faithfully into the calling God has placed on our lives.
