Dear Church Family,
This week has felt almost like summer with the unusually warm weather the last few days As we move toward the weekend, the temperatures are expected to cool again, reminding us that spring is slowly making its way to us. During this seasonal transition, please take good care of your health and well-being.
Below are this week’s announcements and upcoming opportunities for worship, service, and fellowship.
Red Cross Blood Drive – Thursday, March 12, 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
The upcoming Red Cross Blood Drive is just a day away. Paul shared the encouraging news that 23 donors have already registered, and several church members have told him they plan to come and donate blood. We may also welcome additional walk-in donors. I am grateful that our partnership with the Red Cross blood drives has become well established over the years, growing into a meaningful and reliable way for our church to serve our community.
Called Church Council Meeting – March 15 (After Worship)
A called meeting of the Church Council will take place immediately after worship this Sunday in the Sunday School room in the fellowship hall. During this meeting, we will review the “Wesley/Rising Hope Initial Values Orientation and Assessment” report prepared by Dr. Jonathan Page and discuss the next steps as we prayerfully discern the path forward.
Honduras Mission Trip
We invite the congregation to prayerfully support our mission team through both prayer and financial contributions. Prayer partners have been assigned to accompany each mission team member in prayer during this journey.
While we initially considered organizing a fundraising event, we recognized that time and volunteer availability are limited. Several members have also expressed a preference to support the mission through direct donations. Therefore, we invite those who feel led to contribute financially or help purchase needed mission items to contact Pastor Joe. Your generosity and prayers will be a meaningful blessing to the team and the people they will serve.
Weekly Essay
Please read the weekly essay, “Community,” written by Pastor Joe Prewitt-Díaz.
Thank you for your continued prayers, generosity, and faithful participation in the life of our church. May God bless you throughout this week.
Pastor Michelle
